Kitty Bartholomew
Who is she?
Kitty Bartholomew is one of America’s most beloved television decorators.
Kitty spent seven years working on ABC’s Home Show, and then when
HGTV was getting started, she created one of the inaugural shows with
Kitty Bartholomew: You’re Home. She also made many guest appearances
on Oprah, and Ms. Winfrey said that Kitty is her favorite decorator for
kids rooms. Kitty went on to write a decorating book, “Kitty Bartholomew’s
Decorating Style,” which was published by Rodale in 2005. The same
year, she wrote Designer Knitting With Kitty Bartholomew, which also came
out in 2005.
What were her remodeling
goals?
Kitty bought a wonderful little Cape Cod cottage a few years ago. The
house had one drawback: It was all white inside. If you are familiar with
Kitty’s style, you know she loves color. In fact, she’s a nationally
respected expert in color. She needed to give this somewhat sterile house
some personality.
What happened?
Putting to use her legendary high energy, Kitty transformed the house
into a warm and welcoming retreat. The cozy living room with its lush
down couch and chair is so comfortable you never want to leave. The whole
house is a riot of color and warmth and comfort.
