Kathy
Price-Robinson is an award-winning California-based journalist
who specializes in writing stories about homes, design and real
remodels. She has toured and written articles about more than 500
remodeled homes in the past 16 years.
Kathy's popular remodeling
blog, called "Kathy's Remodeling Blog," began its life
on the website of the Los Angeles Times, and then moved to

Kathy is co-author
of "Kitty Bartholomew's Decorating Style" (Rodale, 2005),
co-author of "Designer Knitting With Kitty Bartholomew"
(Sterling, 2005), and editor of "The Lead Carpenter Handbook."
Kathy's 11-year print
series, Pardon Our Dust, runs in the Sunday Real Estate Section
of the Los Angeles Times. Pardon Our Dust was honored with
a second-place award for Best Serial Report from the National Association
of Real Estate Editors.
Plus, an advice column
Kathy wrote with her contractor husband, "She Said, He Said,"
was given a Best of the Web designation by Forbes
magazine. Another series by Kathy on Homestore, Real
Remodels, was given a special mention by the Forbes
analysis.
Kathy won the first
Ralph Bivins Fellowship from the National
Association of Real Estate Editors. The award includes a $3,500
stipend, which is intended to further the education or goals of
a real estate writer.
Kathy also writes for
various construction trade magazines, which gives her an insider's
knowledge of building issues. Topics she has written about include
steel framing, job site waste, the lead carpenter system, engineered
wood, green building, and the relationships between designers and
builders.
Kathy was born into
one construction-oriented family, and married into another. She
studied journalism at California State University Los Angeles. She
has held memberships in the National Writers Union, and the National
Association of Real Estate Editors.
